Luke 2:8-20: Christmas Shepherds

We hear Luke 2 read every Christmas. Children recite portions of it. Families read it as they gather around the table or next to the tree. It’s one of those passages that is so familiar that we sometimes don’t really hear what it is saying anymore.

Let’s slow down and take a closer look at just one portion of the chapter as we prepare for Christmas Day. What can we learn from the shepherds and their response to the message of the angels?
