In this slower-paced study we’ll be taking a leisurely walk through the book of Colossians. We’re going to take out our pens and notebooks (or sit at a keyboard, if you really don’t like writing by hand) and take in every word of Paul’s letter as we copy it.
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy this gentle study method is, and how much we will notice and soak up as we simply copy four verses each day! Getting our hands involved and engaging our minds in a different way as we copy will help us see new details. Little words like “in” and “with” and “through” will take on new significance as we look back on what we’ve written. We’ll do some marking and a bit of drawing. We’ll see repetitions, patterns, and themes.
We’ll be reminded of who we are and what we have in Christ, and we’ll be challenged to put off sinful habits as we put on the character of Christ in their place. This will be a great study to prepare you for our more detailed study of Colossians 3, “Walking with Christ in Our Relationships,” but it is also a great way to review and follow up on what you learned if you have already completed the Colossians 3 study!
Join me! I’m looking forward to this relaxed time together in a book rich with truths and challenges!
What Others Have Said
Such a good exercise!

Even though I had already done the Colossians 3 study in the past, and then studied the other three chapters on my own, I decided to try this study since it used a different method. I also chose to use a different version of the Bible to copy from in my study notebook. This study is rich and full of exhortations and admonitions for the believers. It helped me this month as our family endured several trials, and my prayers for our family and myself were shaped by those four verses I copied and I cam away this month encouraged and strengthened in my faith. I pray many would choose this easier study and know the Lord will use it to shape them as He sees fit since it is His word!
