“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Matthew 1:23 KJV)
As we begin another Christmas season, our study will focus on one of the biblical accounts of Jesus coming to earth. It’s a passage that’s probably familiar to you and me, and so it’s challenging to see it with new eyes.
In this study we will stop and think about what this passage is saying. We’ll identify some repetition and mark specific words. We’ll do a bit of coloring and drawing. We’ll see this part of the Advent story from several people’s perspectives, but primarily Joseph’s, as emphasized in these eight verses of the gospel of Matthew.
This study is an opportunity to meditate on the wonder of God With Us.
